Bad:
Initially, not knowing how to find another email client, when balsa proved inadequate.

Now, can't remember the command lines.

People sending files she can't read without Save As, load into Abiword, etc (Evolution fixes this)

Assumed shrink-wrap software won't run:
eg. cross-stitch design program for windows only.

Installing printer was not just "insert disk" and go: took much swearing on my behalf.  Ditto Digital Camera (still doesn't work).
