Scaling package maintainership

In maintaining huge packagers, there's one golden rule to follow:

DON'T.

Managing your bug list - dealing with your bugs as they come in, shaping your bug list into a resource for you.
Making the PTS work for you - using the PTS to quickly find out everything about your packages.
Alternative build systems - DBS, CDBS, dpatch, and other ways to better deal with big packages.
Using sbuild/pbuilder - automated building in chroots.
Managing massive patches - dealing with massive patches (when .diff.gz will no longer do).
