The Background Story

  • Mostly based on my (and others') experience at CommSecure.

  • CommSecure is a predominantly Python shop building on Linux and Open Source packages.

  • About ten developers working on three or four main projects at any given time. Roughly the same number of operations staff supporting the products on a 24x7 basis.

  • Production code rolled out and supoprted in four countries (Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, USA).
