Yesterday the Linux distribution that runs mirror.linux.org.au was upgraded to the latest stable release. As far as we can tell, everything's running fine, but if you're having a problem, please let us know by emailing the support alias.

mirror capacity increased

The server that runs mirror.linux.org.au has been recently replaced, increasing its capacity by 1.5TB to 2.2TB

There have been a few teething problems with the transition, but most things should be sorted out now. Please email the admin alias if you discover any issues.

mirror.linux.org.au will be down between 9am and 5pm AEDT tomorrow (Wednesday, December 6) for a hardware upgrade that will increase its capacity.

Gentoo Portage and Rsync on the mirror

The Linux Australia Mirror Project has today added a gentoo portage mirror (accessible via rsync) and with that has also opened up rsync access to mirrored content.
